Volunteer Spotlight: Emmalee

Emmalee
Emmalee

Name: Emmalee Mancuso

Occupation/College Program: Student in Liberty's School of Nursing

Hobbies: Running, hiking, going to the movies with friends

How long have you been volunteering with UMA: 2 years

Favorite UMA Memory: Too many to list, but I love hearing the girls recite their Bible verses, sing songs we learned together, and talk about the stories they have been reading in their Bibles.

Favorite thing about working with the UMA youth: Getting to be a part of something that the kids wouldn't have without UMA. The relationships that have been built, the things they are learning, and the experiences the kids have are so incredible to be there for.

Favorite Quote or Bible Verse: "Rather, ten times, die in the surf, heralding the way to a new world, than stand idly on the shore." - Florence Nightengale

We, at UMA, consider it at privilege to have had Emmalee as a part of our team for the past couple years as she finished nursing school in Lynchburg. Her passion for loving our youth is evident whether she is teaching Bible stories, playing games, or showing up at the girls' school concert. Having just graduated in December, Emmalee plans to move back to Delaware where she is looking forward to helping with the youth group of her home church and hopefully finding a job in the local Emergency Department. She is passionate about missions and even though it will no longer be with Urban Mountain Adventures, we know that anyone the Lord brings along her path will be blessed by her love and kindness.

Thank you Miss Emmalee, we love you!
