A Word From a Few of our Awesome Youth
Several of our youth have been with us for 5+ years, So we did a little “Now and Then” so you can see their growth! Our focus at UMA is Developing deep long-term RELATIONSHIPS and we love hearing our youth speak to that!
“I love the people, I love the Staff at UMA, They are family. They treat you like family.” — Mike, 8 years
“Its just a time that you get to hang out with your friends and learn about God and its just really cool.” — Sadie, 4 years
“I’ve been with UMA for 8 years, now. My favorite memory is when we went rafting and I was scared because I was little and they calmed me down and it was really fun!” — Jade, 8 years
“God’s with you everywhere you go, he’s always there with you.” — Kymari, 6 years
“I’ve been here for about 9 years, my favorite memory is when we first went camping. I really liked it. It was my first time camping, I was like nervous and scared, but I eventually got the hang of going camping, after going for so many years. I like the camp fires where everybody gathers around and we just talk about the Lord. I’ve learned to just trust in the Lord, just let him guide you.” — Demi, 9 years

Your Generous Donations and Paid Adventure Packages Enable us to Impact Lynchburg's Urban Youth Through
Weekly Small Group Mentoring
We have 3 locations and about 100 youth that meet weekly. In these gatherings, we focus on biblical values, building relationships, team work, sportsmanship, leadership, and life skills.
Adventures are an awesome way to build relationships, face fears, overcome challenges and be empowered. These trips enable us to forge bonds and build trust at a level we couldn't reach with our weekly bible studies alone. Plus, we teach some sweet outdoor skills and to care for nature.
This is our mentorship program. We pair up two leaders and two of our youth for two-on-two mentorships. It's a lot of baking and visits to the park, but is also another touch point to support and love our youth throughout the week.
